PROTECTING BEYOND EN 343,
GIVING YOU THE ADVANTAGE

Porelle® membranes are engineered for high-performance outerwear, providing protection against extreme cold-weather environments and potential workplace hazards. Our technologies ensure the wearer is protected and comfortable. This is why our membranes are widely used by a range of professional workers in oil, gas, postal, chemical, forestry and other related industries.

THE EN 343 STANDARD

The EN 343 standard sets out the requirements for workwear to protect the user against weather elements and provide a level of wearer comfort. This is vital in working conditions where wind, rain, snow, fog, ground moisture and varying temperatures can be encountered.

EXCEEDING EN 343

Porelle® membranes exceed the requirements of EN 343 for protective workwear. Our technologies can achieve waterproofness levels of 20,000 mm and offer options for Ret breathability ratings as low as 4 in a laminate construction. This gives garment manufacturers the confidence that they can surpass EN 343 Class 3 levels.

We strive for high product consistency and waterproof durability, both in use and after multiple wash cycles. Our quality control process is built around a test regime that goes beyond the typical requirements specified in waterproof standards, such as EN 20811.

BEYOND EN 343 - ENHANCED PROTECTION

Porelle® membranes protect beyond EN 343 requirements in a multitude of ways and this is important because workers are exposed to a number of dangers, not just weather elements. For instance, in certain working environments local hazards from liquid industrial chemicals to viral and blood borne pathogens must be considered.

We offer a range of technologies that can be adapted to different working environments. By combining EN 343 requirements with other properties, porelle® membranes can enhance your hazard and cold weather protection apparel. These properties can include:

  • High visibility (EN 471: Class 3)

  • Anti-static discharge (EN 1149)

  • Flame resistance (EN ISO 11612)

  • Chemical protection (EN 13034 Type 6)

  • Cold weather protection exceeding -40°C

  • Light weight

  • Windproof

  • Salt water resistance

The porelle® membranes range has been engineered for extreme, high performance to deliver maximum protection. All of our membranes are independently monitored by our Quality Assurance Department, which is ISO 9001 certified.
